What does porting my number mean?
When you want to transfer your existing mobile number from one network provider to another network provider, this is called Mobile Number Porting. You can only port your mobile number to a new network if your contract with your current service provider has been ended and you have no outstanding bills.
In order to port your mobile number to your new network you will need to call your existing network and ask them for your PAC code.
What is a PAC code?
PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) is the code that allows you to transfer your number mobile number from your current network provider to your new another network provider. This number is only valid for 30 days.
How long does it take to transfer my number?
A mobile number port takes around 7 days to complete once you have given your new network your PAC code from your old network. You will be informed of the date of transfer when you call to do this.
I am a Pay & Go customer can I port
my number?
Yes you can port a Pay & Go number, this may be subject to restrictions depending on which network your Pay & Go number is on and how long you have had this number. Remember you will need to pass a credit check in order to port a number.
Can I port my number to the same network?
No you can only port a mobile number between networks, so for example if you are on Orange you could port to T-Mobile but not to Orange
